What is Adventurers?
Adventurers is a christian activity-based program for children aged 4 to 9 years old. It is run by volunteers and is a family- based program designed to support parents/caregivers and provide Bible-based learning and new skills for children.
Adventurer Clubs are found all over the world. In Australia all volunteers involved in a Club are required to follow safety procedures such as Working with Children Checks and AdSafe training to provide a safe place for children
The Adventurer Program was created to give children and opportunity to belong to an organised peer group where through fun, creative and outdoor ways they can grow…
- to develop a Christ-like character
- experience the joy and satisfaction of doing things well
- express their love for Jesus
- learn good sportsmanship and strengthen their ability to get along with others
- discover their God-given abilities and to know how to use them to benefit and serve others
- and improve their understanding of what makes families strong.
Through aged based and combined activities both indoors and out in nature, being part of the our Adventurer club will…
- provide opportunities for children, at their own level, to commit their hearts and lives to God and deepen their relationship with Him.
- encourage children in positive attitudes towards the benefits, joys and responsibilities of living a christian life, inclusive of service.
- develop habits, skills and knowledge they will need to be a follower of Jesus in this world
Who can join Adventurers?
The Adventurer Club is organised by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, but joining a Club and participation is open to everyone.
To join our Pre-Adventures, children must be 4 yrs old by the start of March in the given year.
Adventurer classes start from age 6 through to 9. Children progress though the classes each year they are a part of the club. At the end of each year, achievements are acknowledged in a special program called ‘Investiture’.
Adventurers is not just for the younger children, it is for families, so we can all build community and relationships!
See below for more information on registering your child to be part of our club.
What happens at Adventurers?
A club meeting will include a variety of activities and may be held either at an indoor location or at an outdoor location. Our club tries to alternate our meetings so we can place a strong focus on nature based learning, play and exploration in God’s creation.
Being a Christian program, each meeting starts with a worship/parade program which includes the reciting of The Adventure Pledge and Law, singing of the Adventurer songs along with some other songs, prayer and a short talk focused on one of the key aspects of the Adventurer Law.
After the worship, Adventurers split into their classes for activity-based progressive age-appropriate classes. There is a series of six classes, one for each year from ages 4 to 9. In their classes, Adventurers also earn badges known as Stars, Diamonds and Awards.
After the class session, we may join back together for some combined activities and games.
Parents are encouraged to join with their children through worship, class and combined activities – particularly with the pre-adventurer ages as a way of strengthening and building relationships.
At meetings, Adventurers will wear one of two uniforms. See below for further information on uniforms.
They receive awards for completion of honours and activities
